Outside Hilton Head: Fitting in a Morning Kayak Trip While on Vacation

Already a gorgeous place with an abundance in beautiful sights and clear-blue waters, Outside Hilton Head is an adventure mash-up that most nature lovers would jump to see. From wildlife and natural paths through canopied forests, to lakes, ponds, and natural springs, there is so much to do and see here—but one adventure stands head and shoulders above the rest. Instead of making your travels into a mapped out plan, you should be fitting in a morning kayak trip while on vacation. Why? Because there is nothing quite like greeting the sunshine with unwound nerves, a clear mind, and natural beauty in your eyes.

Why Kayaking with Outside Hilton Head?

Kayaking can be both mellow and adventuresome. In one respect, you get to see amazing views that would otherwise be lost to you. And, on the other hand, you have the relaxation of paddling over calm waters before the rest of the world even gets out of bed. The Outside Hilton Head kayak tours are long-lasting at 2 hours, with a professional, trained kayaker to guide your way. The boats are well-kept, clean, and in excellent condition. And the guides have years of experience in leading guests through the salt marshlands and several other destinations in the area.

There are multiple kayak trips to choose from, but the most popular is a family-friendly history lesson and beach-combing experience that explores the waters around Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge. There are a few stops along the way that allow you to become acquainted with the beauties of nature, while a snack break offers prime refuel before you paddle back to base.

Outside Hilton Head caters to all levels of kayakers, from beginners with zero knowledge of kayaking, to professional kayakers with hundreds of hours of paddling beneath their proverbial belts. Regardless of your skill level and experience, the professional kayaking tour guides take you on the same adventures and excursions as everyone else. You will see, experience, and awe over the same things from the comforts of a well-maintained, rock-steady kayak.

Special Kayaking Adventures with Outside Hilton Head Year-Round

Other than morning kayaking adventures, the Outside Hilton Head tour guides are well-equipped to handle various explorations. As a matter of fact, regular activities are planned for more adventurous guests on an annual basis. One of our most popular activities and attractions include the Full Moon Tours.

The schedule for Outside Hilton Head Full Moon Tours is ever-changing but there are multiple dates available every year. Guests will paddle out at sunset to capture a stunning sunset to the west. Then, from a different location, kayakers will watch the moon rise in the east. Guests are regaled with stories, legends, and historical facts about the moon, from tide patterns, to significance in everyday life, and how the moon affects moods, attitudes, and local tales. For adults, these kayaking tours cost around $45, with $10 knocked off for children 12 years and younger.

The Fireworks Paddle, another Outside Hilton Head favorite, is available every Tuesday (weather permitting) from mid-June to mid-August. After taking in a beautiful sunset over Broad Creek, you will paddle your way out to a waiting raft to watch a star-spangled fireworks show.

There have been dozens of visitors to Outside Hilton Head over the decades, and most of them have left their personal reviews of the kayak tours on TripAdvisor. Sidonie W. of Georgetown, Maine, wrote, “What a great time we had kayaking! We got a great education on the area and the ecosystem. It was a perfect sunrise paddle!”
