Hurricane Matthew Volunteer Opportunity with Outside Hilton Head

Page Aid

The Hilton Head Island area has been hit hard by Hurricane Matthew. We are very fortunate to live and work in a community where people come together to makes things better for each other. We have had many people ask how they can help, so here is a letter from the owner and Team at Outside Hilton Head as to what you can do:

Dear Friends of Outside Brands and Outside Hilton Head, I am reaching out with a request for help and an opportunity. The Page Island Growth Center facility was hit hard by Hurricane Matthew. Boardwalks were lost, dock damaged, gear and supplies washed away, and much of the island is covered in tons of marsh rack. Over the past 14 days a remarkable recovery effort has unfolded. Many staff and volunteers have done amazing work.

This said there is still a huge amount of work to do. Plans are being made to re construct board walks, challenges are being re built, storage and shelters re constructed

An enormous need is the removal of the marsh rack. This is an urgent need as it greatly impacts the island’s ecosystem and natural beauty. On this end on next Saturday & Sunday work days are being planned.

Volunteer Opportunities

Saturday 10/29 depart SCM 9am return at 3:30pm
Sunday 10/30 depart SCM 10am return at 4:30pm

We are seeking groups that would like to volunteer their services for these clean ups. This work is an awesome work out and great team building and community give back opportunity.

We will provide:
Boat transportation to and from Page Island
Lunch and water
