Hilton Head Receives Gold Award from League of American Bicyclists
Hilton Head Island was recently named one of the best biking communities in the United States, earning the Gold award from the League of American Bicyclists. Hilton Head was one of only four communities across the country to be promoted from one level to another by using criteria previous set up by the League. (The Island had received the Silver award in previous years since 2011.) It also puts Hilton Head Island in the League of American Bicyclists’ Top 25 Bike Friendly Communities nationwide.
The League of American Bicyclists helps communities across the U.S. make the roads safer and more enjoyable for those riding bikes for both work and pleasure. The League also offers many programs to educate bikers as well as motorists on how to keep each other safe, while still obeying the rules of the road.
