This trip combines two of our most popular trips, The Dolphin Eco Tour and The Guided Kayak Tour, in an over the top remote location. A favorite of locals and visitors alike, this four and half hour trip is sure to be a memorable experience for your group or family.
Your Outback adventure begins at Shelter Cove Marina, where you will meet your Captain, who is also an Interpretive Naturalist Guide and will be with you throughout the experience. You will then take a scenic boat excursion through the backcountry creeks and rivers near Hilton Head, stopping for dolphins and other wildlife along the way. Our destination is Outside Hilton Head’s private island, called Page Island. This remote location is only accessible by boat, and is most often compared to the set of a ‘Survivor’ show, the perfect outpost to begin this distinctive kayak tour. After briefly exploring the island, your guide will lead a paddling clinic to get everyone up to speed. Then your guide will launch you in your kayak from our state-of-the-art kayak launch dock. Both single and double kayaks are available, and all boats are safe and comfortable.
Once out in kayaks, your guide will lead you through the peaceful and pristine creeks on the backside of Daufuskie Island. Very few people have the opportunity to paddle this area, as it is only accessible by boat. The calm water paddle offers fantastic views and great opportunities to see lots of unspoiled wildlife. After approximately two hours of kayaking, we return to Page Island before boarding for the return cruise to Hilton Head Island.
The Outback is only offered by Outside Hilton Head. No experience is necessary and beginners are welcome. It is of Outside Hilton Head’s most popular family programs. The Outback includes the Captain/guide, round trip powerboat cruise to Page Island, and kayak, paddle and life-jacket rental.
Total trip time is 4.5 hours.
