Charlie Thorn, our guide, not only gave us a first class (and private - because we were the only two signed up) tour but also a sensitive and balanced educational experience of Daufuskie which we won't forget. The history, the culture and the beauty of an island which has such an important message and history and which should in some way always be preserved for what it was. Taking a golf cart ride on our own would have left such a void in our understanding and appreciation of such a place. Kudos to you for finding such competent staff and for carrying out such a beneficial program for visitors to HHI. Greetings South Carolina. Grew up in Orange County, and have passed the old Hobie store on PCH years ago. I am 66 years old and tomorrow take my maiden voyage in my new Revolution fishing Kayak. Taught school (don’t hold me to spelling everything right), played professional baseball (minor leagues) and then into corp. life of sales and management. Thus the reason for this e-mail. You always know it when you see it (Quality). Actually you Know It When You See It--is the title of a book--its about customer service. I found it (Quality) at one of your stores. Your gang at Outside Hilton Head in SC--is a real group of quality people. Mark Wray and Mickey Price treated me and my neighbor really well as we searched for our fishing Kayaks. The gentleman who took us out as our guide to fish, Mark Mole, also did a great job. It must be great to know that one of your distributors does this great job with potential customers. I am having them come to present to our fishing club--talking about Kayak fishing. We probably have some of the most beautiful areas in the US to fish. I probably could have shopped around and saved a few bucks, but you don’t do it when your treated as well as we were. Good service isn’t cheap, and cheap service isn’t good. I will return to Outside Hilton Head to buy any follow-up Kayak ‘stuff’. Hope my day fishing for Redfish tomorrow is as good as my treatment by your folks in Hilton Head. I hope to have many great days fishing my Hobie here in the Low Country. Thanks again

My fiance and I (we are from Jersey) went on a kayaking trip with Outside Hilton Head in August. We just wanted to say 'thank you' for your generosity. We had a GREAT time (even in the rain). It was my first time kayaking in South Carolina, my fiance has gone once with your business before. But he had said he had a great trip his first time with you guys, and my aunt and uncle (who live on Hilton Head) suggested we take a trip with you as well. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny, and your staff in the store was helpful and courteous. Thank you for a memorable experience!

"I am writing to commend Seth for his excellent advice and customer service during our vacation to Hilton Head is June. Seth was the deciding factor in my decision to purchase a kayak, and I am very pleased with the boat. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, even returning to the store after his regular hours to close the sale and insure the boat was in perfect condition. More Importantly, he provided excellent advice on the purchase of a book titled Tideland Treasures (by Todd Balantine). We spent the remainder of our vacation with our 7 year old nephew on a quest to see as many creatures depicted in the book as possible before leaving. We found 51, including live horseshoe crabs! "I just received a phone call from Lynn Bennett whose daughter recently attended Kid's Camp. She said that her daughter was extremely nervous about going to camp and almost didn't go. When she picked us Alexis, she said that her daughter had a HUGE smile on her face and went on to tell me that on their car ride home, Alexis told her about the day detail by detail, not leaving anything out. She told her mom that her counselor, Sammy, was awesome and that she made her 'not feel scared' anymore. Alexis is still talking about her amazing time at Kid's Camp. Her mom is planning on signing her up for a few more camps this summer. Mrs. Bennett wanted me to pass on the message to the appropriate people and say thank you for making her daughter feel safe and comfortable."
